The 80's. Excellent!!!!

This weekend I'm going to a friend's retro birthday party. Since I have no money, I decided to bust out with the dusty box of concert shirts from high school and some black leather stoner boots that just happened to be in my closet. How they got there, I don't know. Really, I don't. Hee! Anyway, I am going as an 80's rocker chick complete with big hair and blue eye shadow. I know, not much of a stretch for me but hey I gotta make do with what I got. If I remember, I'll take some pix and post them next week. Besides heavy metal, I also had my wtf moments when I let myself get caught up in the latest hoopla. Yes, it was Hammer time and it was a craze that I am ashamed to say I got sucked up in just like most of the rest of the world. At least I wasn't alone. LOL! Since I'm being embarrassingly honest about this shizz, I will go one step further and admit that I even hightailed it to the record store and purchased my very own vinyl version of the hit single "U Can't Touch This." I still have it. Yes, it was a time of big hair, big pants and smooth moves. I will however, always be known for my love of metal music. My dream was to marry Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and live happily ever after in my big house in Beverly Hills. Well, needless to say that didn't happen but the 80's craze still lives on in my heart. From the fashion to the dance moves, those of us who really got to live the 80's will always carry a part of it around with us. C'mon, admit it. Somewhere deep in your almost forgotten junk drawer there is a spiked leather bracelet that you just couldn't part with. Or maybe it's the Don Johnson white blazer hiding in the closet behind your collection of football jerseys. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about.
