It Must Have Been Temporary Insanity

Yesterday after skipping work due to a massive sinus headache and sleeping for about 10 hours, I woke up feeling pretty decent but a little bedsore and hungry so Dave and I went to lunch and after seeing one of those groovy Toyota FJ Cruisers drive by we decided to hit the dealership to check one out up close. Well the Toyota dealer only had 2 in stock. The blue ones. Ugh. I really wanted to see a silver one but apparantly since the Cruisers are so new, as soon as the dealer gets them in, they are sold very quickly. Well I've only seen a couple on the road so far but anywho, we took a peek at the blue Cruiser and let me tell you, It looks pretty groovy but also rather generic. There is a lot of plastic to that vehicle and it looks just like a big version of a child's toy. I mean, it's neat and all but after sitting inside and seeing everything up close, I was a bit disappointed. I did like the fact that the back of the vehicle didn't have any carpet or fabric which would be good for toting around hairy dogs since all you would have to do is hose it out, but then I also figured the dogs would scratch it all up so that wouldn't be good. Anyway, I still think the silver one probably looks nicer but now I'm leaning toward the vehicle I originally had my heart set on. The picture I posted today is of my dream car. The Toyota 4runner 4x4 Sport Edition. OMG!!!!!!! This wonderous vehicle was sitting right next to the FJ Cruiser and man did it put that FJ to shame! It is absolutely beautiful inside and out and Dave and I both agreed that we would take one over the new Cruiser any day. With way less generic looking plastic and a more elegant look, the 4runner is one of the most pristine vehicles I have ever seen. Talk about aiming high but let me tell you, if I ever find myself in the position to upgrade my current 4runner to something new with a similar payment, you bet your ass I'll do my damndest to put myself behind the wheel of one of these suv's. So now that my curiosity of the FJ Cruiser has been satisfied, all I can say is that in my opinion FJ stands for f***ing joke and the 4runner will forever kick ass! I should have never strayed! Please forgive me 4runner sport! Never again will you have to question my loyalty! Oh, and on another note, Dave is still trying to send me the pictures he took at the Stillen car show. I didn't take my video camera since we didn't have a lot of room in the car so he took his digital instead and got some cool shots of some of the cars we saw out there. Hopefully I'll get them sometime today. There is also another car show this weekend in California somewhere. Dave's car club is going and I've been invited again. I think they call it Summer Madness. I don't have all the details yet but apparantly there will be camping in the forest somewhere too which means I get to take my 4runner so I won't be crammed in the backseat of Mike's ride. Yay!! I will definitely take my camera this time so I'll get some car show pix posted on here one way or the other. Eventually. Ok, I'm out. Have a good one!
