Happy Birthday America!

Yay! It's almost the 4th of July again which means booze, bbq's, good friends and family! The higher ups at work must have had a temporary moment of insanity because they gave us both Monday and Tuesday off which means a 4 day weekend! Whoot! Now to figure out what to do with all those days! The actual 4th will consist of another Crazy Dave beach party. It will have to be a tame one for me though since I go back to work on Wednesday but there will be plenty of krunk time to be had between Friday and Monday. I'm sure I'll get it all figured out one way or another. I will also have to make sure that my 2 dogs are secure in the house with either the tv or the radio to keep them calm while the fireworks are going on at night. One of my poor pooches who I consider my special needs child is very sketchy and one year on the 4th he actually scaled a 7 foot gate on the side of my house! Now that he is older I think he will be okay in the bedroom on his blanket. That is his happy place and favorite place of retreat when his stress level is high. Poor puppy! As much fun as the 4th can be though, there are always the idiots who don't take the safety of themselves or others into consideration when lighting fireworks. I am hoping that the people in my neighborhood will be a little more cautious this year. Last year I woke up to fireworks in both my front and back yards, my driveway, on top of my vehicle and even on the roof of my house. Yeah, great. Maybe I should pass out fire extinguishers before I head out to the beach party. Anyway, I will close this posting by wishing you all out there a safe and fun holiday weekend.
