Sandy Weekend

Well we finally made it to the dunes!!! Dave, Mike, Brenda, Brenda's son Cody and myself packed it up after work Friday and headed out that night. We got there late but the weather was awesome and even the campfire we built was too hot to sit around. The sky was clear and on that first night we set up camp and layed in the sand gazing at the stars. On Saturday the weather was even hotter. This was Brenda and Cody's first trip to the dunes so Mike was nice enough to give them a ride in the sandrail and show them what's it like to rip it up. Cody is 12 years old and quite hyper so this was like heaven to him. He loved riding in the rail and the faster the better! Dave took me for a ride too but it was pretty hot so we spent most of the day inside the motor home eating and watching tv until we had enough shade outside to head out again. The late afternoon was beautiful and Mike was buzzing around like we had never seen him before. He rode Cody and Brenda around the dunes and made sure they were having a good time.


Saturday night was windy so we didn't bother to build a campfire. Dave cooked up some chicken on the grill and we ate and hung out in the motor home playing dominoes and Uno and watching South Park. Dave says that it will most likely be the last trip of the season now that it's starting to get too hot. I'm just glad that we were able to get away one last time and with Brenda and Cody there it was even better. Now I guess we'll have to come up with something else to do during the summer months. No worries though, with Dave and Mike there's always an adventure around the corner!
