Living Vicariously
Here are some pix of my friend Ariel. He lives in Nicaragua but when we were teenagers, we both worked together at A&W in Las Vegas. He recently went on vacation and made Vegas his last stop. It was the first time I had seen him in 15 years. Our time was short but it was so exciting to see each other after so long and it brought back such good memories from way back when. Ariel promised he would email me the pictures he took of us while he was in town but in the meantime, he sent these ones so I could see the other places he went to while on vacation. These are some fascinating photos. The first pic was taken in Cambodia.
These other pix are from his visit to Thailand. Now I can respect the lifestyles and practices of people from other countries but wtf is up with that woman's neck?! Does this actually mean something or is it just a way accessorizing? Maybe it's a contest to see how far they can stretch their necks until their heads pop off. I don't know. I forget the name of this particular tribe. Ariel included it with the photo but I accidently deleted the text. Anywho, if anyone sees this picture on here and has any info on the neck decorations of this tribe, please fill me in. Oh, and forgive my ignorance. I wouldn't want to offend anyone with my comments.
I am absolutely thrilled that Ariel is doing so well and that he is able to travel and do the things he loves to do. I still have an open invitation to visit him in Nicaragua anytime I want. Also, his brother Carlos lives in Costa Rica and just opened up a bar/lounge.
Did someone say free booze? Get me to the airport, quickly!!!
