Grindhouse

How many of you remember the old school movie theaters where you would pay to see a double feature, the film was fuzzy, it skipped and cracked and sometimes it even stopped mid picture when the reel wouldn't cooperate? Well I remember it very well and last night we went and saw the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino double feature Grindhouse. These 2 movies plus the faux trailers in between were the funniest things I've seen in a long time!

The first feature titled "Planet Terror" teams up Rose McGowan and our favorite Six Feet Under mortician Freddy Rodriguez fighting zombie after zombie in this gore filled laughfest. McGowan and Rodriguez play ex lovers and when poor Rose loses a leg to the zombies, Freddy replaces it with a machine gun.

As the zombies multiply and kill, the small team of avengers find themselves fighting for their survival so they can escape the evil and move on to a place where they can make a better world for themselves. The violence and gore in this movie is excessive and will make you bust a gut since it is all pretty much comical instead of scary. This film is brought to us from the mind of Robert Rodriguez.

Our second feature comes from Quentin Tarantino and is titled "Death Proof" starring Kurt Russell as "Stuntman Mike." Rose McGowan also has a part in this flick as well as some of the other actors from the first film.

Stuntman Mike likes to use his car to terrorize women and he does a great job until he ends up messing with the wrong 4 bitches.

These Hollywood girls are looking for a little fun of their own when they come across a madman on the road. Real life Kill Bill stuntwoman Zoe Bell shows off her talents in this one and doesn't disappoint.

All the girl talk and fast speed action in this film keep it entertaining from beginning to end.

Well I don't want to go into anymore details. You have to see it for yourself. Definitely worth going to the theater and watching it on the big screen. You don't have to be a big fan of Quentin Tarantino either. I'm not but I enjoyed both of these films and I would see them again. Oh, those faux movie trailers I mentioned at the beginning of this post.....here's a little teaser for ya brought to you by the brilliant Mr. Eli Roth titled "Thanksgiving." Enjoy!
