Insert Worker Here

Having to work 5 days and 40 hours a week can really take its toll on a person so when a 3 day holiday weekend is right around the corner, most of us count our blessings and are very thankful that once in a while we do get a break and still get paid. Then there are those who don't think the holiday weekend is enough and that a day during the week should also be considered. This would be the case of our dear Buddy. He likes to push the boundaries of authority, and since the big cheese has left the worker mice for a whole week, he decided to make the decision for himself that he deserved an extra day off. Yes, he made the poor attempt to call in sick but we all know how he operates.
That being said, there is a big barbeque planned for Friday.
Buddy likes food. Buddy loves food. Buddy lives for food (as well as stimulants) so the big question is - will he take Friday off as well and treat himself to a 5 day weekend or will he show up, smiley red faced with fork in hand???? We all shall know very very soon........

Smoke Break

It's nice to know that outside our new building there is a smoking area complete with table and benches
for our comfort and enjoyment. On the other hand, Vegas weather in June/July is quite toasty and who
wants to burn their ass on an outside bench if we can just create a spot in our warehouse in the shade?
The natives shown here are not rest-less but rest-ing and are a prime example of when the cat's (boss)
away the mice will do whatever the hell they want. And yes, that is a no smoking sign on the door!!!
Notice the rebellious smiles on their faces. Naughty naughty natives!!!

Happily Ever After?

My sister sent me this picture of our great grandparents on their wedding day.
Now vintage pics like this one (as cool as they are to look at) are also to me a
bit sad. The people in them never really smile and it makes you wonder if
perhaps they weren't really all that happy. I know that times were hard back
in those days but you would think that a wedding would be something to
celebrate and that those involved would at least show some kind of emotion
on their faces. I didn't know my great grandparents so I don't know what the
story of their lives was all about but I would like to think that what this photo
lacks in my eyes isn't something that affected the way they lived or the way
felt about each other. I'm sure there's an interesting story there, maybe I
should ask my grandmother.....
