Family Fun

Ok, I wasn't going to post anything else until after the New Year but I figured now would be a good time to put these pictures up. These were taken right before Thanksgiving when my sister Darcy came out to visit. Along with mom and Dave we hung out at Joe's Crab Shack and drank and drank and drank. Yay! That was fun! My sister posted these on her blog a while back so I swiped them to put on mine too so my whole 2 or 3 readers could see them also. Oh wait, my sister would be one of the readers....heh. Well, maybe someone will stumble upon my blog and check out my pix. Doesn't mom look cute in the mouth of the vicious alligator? Or is it a croc? Let's say it's a croc shall we? Crickey! Until next year fellow bloggers, cheers!!!

Friend's Holiday Dinner 2005

A couple of years ago I decided to start a tradition of having a holiday dinner at my house for the friends. During the holiday season everyone is usually out running around or hanging out with family so I thought it would be nice if we could take an evening and spend it together around a table with good food and drink. Well this year was no exception. Some of the old group have gone their separate ways and some have moved away but those of us who are left decided not to let that get us down. We recruited some new friends and I must say this years dinner was the best so far. We decorated the house, mom (yes, she is family but still considered a friend!) cooked up some dead beast, everyone brought a dish and we all sat around and filled our little (ok, maybe not so little) tummies with Christmas joy. Everything was yummy and during dinner conversation we even had The Grinch playing on the bigscreen. After we ate, we cleared the table and with the exception of a couple lazy butts, we decorated the Christmas tree. We also played around with some santa hats and after the booze really kicked in, we fired up the karaoke and sang to our hearts content (ok, until we were so drunk we couldn't read the words on the screen anymore.) The evening was a great success and everyone had a fun time. I feel very lucky to have such great friends. Until next year, peace, love, good food and booze - lots of booze!!! Oh Fishmas Tree!!
Be it in a sombrero or santa hat, Brenda always makes sure she gives props to her homies.
Naughty or nice? We'll never tell!
Mike makes his own fashion statement. Needless to say the cane didn't last very long after the this picture was taken. :o(
Jackson plays Houdini with the tangled mess of lights.
Steve and Mikey playing with their balls. Oops, I mean their bulbs.
Tawna adds the angels and hopes to regain some of her innocence back.
Dave tops off the tree in 3 seconds flat as to make sure the ice doesn't melt in his drink.
A woman's touch makes lopsided Dave angel just right.
Watch out American Idol, drunken karaoke has begun!

And the turkey dinner finally kicks in......

Sand - It Tastes Like Chicken

Ok, here we go! My blog is a little backwards but I was having technical difficulties with my bloggy pix. These here are from our trip to Glamis over Thanksgiving weekend. Dave managed to get his mitts on a buggy so with new toy in tow as well as brother Mike, friend Bob, motor home and quads we headed out to the dunes.
Dave, Mike and Bob are old pros when it comes to the sand dunes but this was my first experience. I must say it was both scary and exciting and definitely worth the 4 days of dirt in every orifice. There were thousands of people with their sand rails and quads and even trucks jamming up and down the dunes like a bunch of ants on an enormous ant hill all weekend long. When we got there on Wednesday, we set up camp next to some other frequent duners whom the boys knew from trips in the past. They turned out to be really cool people who hung out with us at night by the campfire and they even invited us for turkey dinner on Thursday! Dave and Mike spent a couple of days getting the buggy ready for crusin' but then it was time for my first ride in the rail. Ok, lemme tell you this, if you've never been in a sand rail before and if you are as paranoid as I am, you only hope that the person driving you knows what the hell he or she is doing. Well I was strapped in this red buggy with a man who goes by the name "Crazy" Dave at the wheel. You can only imagine my poor little heart beating a million miles an hour as it jumped into my throat and then fell back into my stomach. Ok, so I'm being a bit overdramatic. It was a little scary though, really. If you're not familiar with the way a sand rail operates then it tends to give you the feeling that you are either going to go over the edge and straight down into oblivion or that you will just slide sideways until the buggy topples and flips over and over until you meet your demise in a big crumpled heap at the bottom. Other than that it's great!! LOL!! I did manage to survive a couple rides and after the initial scary feeling, I felt more exhilarated than anything. The rail was quite loud and intimidating but Dave made sure I was safe and sound and having a good time. When we got back to camp, I emerged from buggy with sand in ass and mouth but also with smile on face like I just cheated death or something. I promised myself that given the opportunity again, I would relax a bit more and try to enjoy the ride without all of the paranoia that I experienced during my first ride. Well, we all gotta start somewhere, right?! Anyway, we not only rode around on the dunes, we also partied it up with our fellow campers at night. Mike set up the sound system and karaoke and we sang and drank the nights away under the stars. Dave and I even laid on top of the dunes and stared up at the sky. It was quite romantic and we even managed to make out a little and as I entertained the idea of dragging our air mattress up the dunes, a few quads whizzed by and barely missed us so I decided that the safest thing to do was to keep that particular fantasy in my head rather than trying to act it out and possibly losing a limb or even worse (you know where I'm going with this, right?) Ok, back to the other festivities. Dave's friend Valentina and her fiance drove out to join us and we all had a great time as you can see. We also got food and purchased a few items from the many cool vendors out there and Dave, Mike and I even managed to squeeze in a bonsai trip to Algodones, Mexico for shopping and lunch. It was an awesome 4 days and all I can say is I'm looking forward to yet another "Crazy" adventure :0)

Company Christmas Party

Well another year has gone by and another celebration of the holidays for us blue collar workers. Our company Christmas party was held at a karaoke bar and we all had a great time. These pix were taken with my camcorder and even though they are quite dark and not the best quality, I think they still turned out pretty good. We start out this posting with me and my chicky pal Sandy and then me and my boss Bill followed by yours truly (again -hee!) with my main squeeze Dave and boy who are all those other handsome men who took pictures with me?! Well, they are
some of my many coworkers including a few whom I like to call my inspiration as they walk past my window in wifebeaters and baggy boy jeans - (HOTTTT!!!) Unfortunately I wasn't able to get pictures of a lot of the other party goers but everyone had fun and in closing I'd like to comment on the last picture - it wouldn't be a party unless I kissed a girl, right!!!
