Things That Make You Go "Hmmmm...."

It's funny what the mind chooses to remember. For example,
most times I couldn't tell you what I wore to work from one day to the next or even what I had for lunch without straining my brain. Today I was just sitting at my desk and balancing my checkbook when I noticed the date. I immediately thought to myself "Hmm, it's Jody's birthday today." Jody was my highschool sweetheart and he is 37 years old today. I haven't seen him for at least a decade but for some reason the day of his birthday stuck in my head all these years. It makes me wonder if anyone from my past remembers specific details about me and if so, what they are. Anyway, just one of life's funny moments when you stop and think, "hmmm...." On another note, check out mine and Jody's prom picture from high school. Circa 1988. The bigger the hair, the better. And as for Jody's mullet, nobody wore it better than him. Eat your heart out Billy Ray Cyrus!!!

When you think you're having a bad day, a bad year, or even a bad decade, try not to forget the little things that make you smile.

Fuzzy Boot Dilemma

What is it with all these women wearing fuzzy boots?? My boyfriend thinks they're hot. I see them everywhere I go. Just because everyone else is wearing them doesn't mean I should too, right? My boyfriend thinks yes, I should. Now, I have never been much of a foo foo kinda girl. I listen to hard rock music. I wear jeans and t shirts. Lots of them. I have a pair of vintage Nikes and a pair of Trax that I absolutely adore. I do have some boots but they are like the tall stoner boots that everyone used to wear in the 80's. Ok, maybe I do need to rethink my wardrobe now that I'm in my 30's but I still don't think I should have to conform to society's flyby fads. Sure, fuzzy boots are cute enough but I need something with a little more edge. And by all means ABSOLUTELY NO PINK!!! I won't even post a picture of pink fuzzy boots on here so that just shows how much I despise them. So, to appease my boyfriend's enthusiasm over the fuzzy boot craze, I decided to check out a few sites just to see what was out there. Maybe I could find something a little more me. Here's what I came up with - Yes, the picture says it all. Cutesyshoes. OK, NEXT!!!
Oh HELL NO, what do I look like a freakin' polar bear?!
OMG, am I really seeing these?! Can this be true? Did someone really hear my gripe and create the most perfect of fuzzy boots just for me? I hear them calling. Oh yes, I do!!! Now,
what do I have to sell to get my mitts on these beauties? Crap! dilemma #2! And so it goes......

Resolutions Part 2

Here we go with part 2 of our Reso trip over New Years. Check out these kick ass rides! It's amazing what some people spend just to trick out their vehicles. They sure were cool to look at though. We start out with what I call the skull car and my favorite one out of the bunch. Talk about sweet! It would have been nice to see a few more classics but as you can see there were plenty of cool trucks and such. It was a fun time and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't been to a car show. In closing I would like to mention that there were some funny moments during our Reso trip including watching the drunks dancing around and acting foolish but unfortunately the funniest moments of the whole trip were not caught on camera. I won't mention them here but there were 2 moments in particular that definitely could have been on Americas Funniest Videos - right Dave?! LOL!!

New Year's Resolutions

Ok, here we go - this is gonna have to be a 2 parter! Over New Year's weekend Dave, Mike and I joined some members of their car club "Simply Choice" at the 30th annual Resolutions car show in Blythe, California. The event consisted of numerous car clubs, tricked out cars, booze and naked party people. We even got to witness a club initiation that included guys taped together and prancing around in diapers while getting cooking oil dumped all over them - eck! The following pictures are in no particular order and just us along with the rest of the crowd having a good time. I will post some cool car pix in the next couple of days. Happy New Year!!
