Better Than Peanut Butter And Jelly With The Crusts Cut Off
Well whatdaya know?! Blogger decided to work this morning so I could post my drifting pictures! Sweet! Let's start with my fav driver Nubo Kumakubo from Japan's Team Orange. I got to see him race out at the speedway a couple of weekends ago along with Dave, Mike, Brenda and Bob. It was hot as hell out there but once the drifitng started it was barely noticeable as we cheered on the many racers that came to Vegas all the way from Japan along with some American racers as well.
These pictures don't do the sport justice. Just imagine being right at the front of the track and watching the racers come speeding around the corner and racing from side to side as they make their way around the track. It's awesome to see and sometimes a little scary at the same time but we were standing behind the front rail and when the racers came back around, they would stick their hands out of their cars and slap our hands and wave to crowd assuring everyone that they were ok even after a few bumps on the track.
This is the rail we were standing behind. Unfortunately the lame cameramen didn't get a pic of our group but we will still probably be on tv as ESPN was out there filming. Yay! Superstars! Hee! Oh, and let's not forget the hoochies on heels who were there to keep the crowd riled up during intermission. Give me an "H!".....
Nubo going head to head with Toshiki Yoshioka.
They were the last 2 drivers in the finals. Nubo's Suburu Impreza against Toshiki's Toyota Corolla. Yes, I said Corolla!
Here's 2 pix of American Vaughn Gittin in his mustang. We know him as "JR" and he is part of Team Drift Alliance. JR is a self taught driver out of Maryland who started out at the age of 13. We got to see him out at the speedway as well but unfortunately he got smoked out by one of the Japanese drivers. Better luck next time JR! If you would like to find out more about JR and the Drift Alliance Team, check out their website - http://www.driftalliance.com/ They even have some groovy t-shirts and stuff.
Another action picture. Don't ask me what the Japanese writing on the side says but I'm guessing it's probably something like "check out these bad boys kicking up smoke as they haul ass around the track - WOOT!!!"
Well believe it or not, the Corolla beat out the Impreza! Gotta give props to my man Nubo Kumakubo. He was a great sport and handled his loss with style and grace!
Toshiki Yoshioka celebrating his win with a little help from his friends. Well done Toshiki!
You guys rock! See ya next time! Go Team Orange! XOXO
Why is my comment thingy so far down there? WTF?!?!
